Synthesis, Properties, and an X-Ray Structure Analysis of Nitridobis(dimethylphosphonium-methylide) Complexes of Some d8- and d10-Transition Metals (Ni, Pt, Au, Zn, Cd)The ylide (CH3)3P=N—P(CH3)2=CH2 reacts with the trimethylphosphine complexes of NiCl2 and PtCl2 by transylidation to yield [(CH3)3P=N=P(CH3)3]Cl and square planar chelate complexes of these metals (1,2). In these novel organometallic compounds the nitridobis(dimethyl-phosphonium methylide) ligand is symmetrically attached to the metal through two M—CH σ-bonds. The dimethylgold(III) chelate 3 is formed from the same ylide and dimethylgold chlorid Zinc and cadmium complexes with a supposed tetrahedral configuration are obtained from tl ylide and the metal alkyls (4,5). According to an X-ray diffraction analysis the nickel complex forms centrosymmetrical molecules, the two six-membered rings being tied together through the N atom. The bond lengths and the large bond angle PNP indicate a delocalized electronic syster similar to that of acetylacetone.
    Notes: Das Ylid (CH3)3P=N—P(CH3)2=CH2 reagiert mit den Trimethylphosphin-Komplexen von NiCl2 und PtCl2 unter Umylidierung zu [(CH3)3P=N=P(CH3)3]Cl und den quadratisch-planar konfigurierten Chelat-Komplexen 1,2 dieser Metalle. In diesen neuartigen metallorganischen Verbindungen ist der Nitridobis(dimethylphosphonium-methylid)-Ligand über zwei M—CH2-σ-Bindungen symmetrisch an das Metall gebunden. Analog entsteht aus dem gleichen Ylid und Dimethylgoldchlorid das Dimethylgold(III)-Chelat 3. Die vermutlich tetraedrisch gebauten Komplexe von Zink und Cadmium bilden sich aus den Metallalkylen und dem Ylid unter Alkanentwicklung (4,5). Die Nickelverbindung 1 bildet aufgrund der Röntgenstrukturanalyse centro-symmetrische Moleküle, deren sechsgliedrige Ringsysteme über das Ni-Atom verknüpft sind. Nach den Bindungslängen und dem großen PNP-Valenzwinkel liegt ein delokalisiertes Elektronen-system analog dem des Acetylacetonats vor.

Biosynthesis of the Seco-anthraquinones Geodin and Dihydrogeodin from EmodinFeeding of biosynthetically prepared [u-14C]emodin([u-14C]-2) to surface cultures of Aspergillus terreus yielded radioactive geodin (5) and dihydrogeodin (3c) with significant incorporation rates. Thus it is proven that these two chlorine containing fungus metabolites are seco-anthraquinones formed similarily as the ergochromes from emodin by oxidative ring cleavage.
    Notes: Verfüttern von biosynthetisch gewonnenem [u-14C]Emodin ([u-14C]-2) an Oberflächenkulturen von Aspergillus terreus ergab mit signifikanten Einbauraten radioaktives Geodin (5) und Dihydrogeodin (3c). Hierdurch ist bewiesen, daß es sich bei diesen beiden chlorhaltigen Pilzinhaltsstoffen um Seco-anthrachinone handelt, die ähnlich wie die Ergochrome durch oxidative Ringöffnung aus Emodin (2) hervorgehen.
