Notes: Abstract The character of the excited levels of115In was analyzed through the decay of115gCd and115mCd. Beta and gamma-ray spectra were recorded, and beta-gamma and gamma-gamma coincidences as well as gamma-gamma angular correlations were performed. Several semiconductor detectors have been used, such as Si(Li) and intrinsic germanium of different volumes and efficiencies. New results on the gamma (35)-gamma (232) angular correlation are presented, as well as confirmatory ones on the gamma (35)-gamma (493) and gamma (484)-gamma (934). Mixing ratios for all these cascades with the corresponding sign are established. The shape factor of the beta spectrum to the 1291.2-keV level is determined for the first time, and a confirmatory value for the shape factor of the beta spectrum to the 934.4-keV level is obtained. Gamma-gamma coincidence experiments show that the 105.3-keV gamma ray follows the 485-keV transition. Theoretical calculations were made to fit the experimental results by using the generalized semimicroscopic model. State vectors for some even-parity states are presented as well as theoretical branching and mixing ratios, and nuclear lifetime.

Notes: Abstract A reinvestigation of theL X-ray-gamma angular correlations following the decay of139Ce is made by using a Si(Li) semiconductor detector asL X-ray detector. Coincidence measurements at five different angles were made between the 166-keV gamma ray and theL X-ray spectrum. The data were handled in two different ways: (i) the counts under theL l +L α+L β+L γ peaks were taken; (ii) the counts under theL l +L α+L β peaks were only considered. Chance coincidences as well as coincidences background were taken into account. The results indicate that no anisotropy is to be found within a margin of error of 6×10−3.

Notes: Summary In this paper the Den Hartog-Tjan estimation procedure for a fixed coefficients vintage model of the Dutch economy was challenged. An alternative procedure has been developed, which is not subject to the objection that actual output and labour demand data are used as proxies for capacity variables. The main conclusion of the Den Hartog-Tjan paper, that the ’sixties are characterized by excess capacity and the early ’seventies by structural unemployment, is confirmed. There is, however, reason to suspect that the authors overestimate the life span of oldest equipment and underestimate the amount of structural unemployment in the ’seventies.

Notes: Abstract A short review is presented on methods to determine phospholipase A activities. On purpose, only those methods are covered which can, at least potentially, be used for assaying the low activities generally associated with intracellular phospholipases A. A selection was made of procedures which apply non-radioactive or radioactive substrates or chemically modified substrate analogs which can be used for spectrophotometric assays.

Notes: Abstract The electron capture to positron emission ratios for allowed Gamow-Teller transitions from the decay of22Na and65Zn were measured. The values ɛ/gb+=0.1128±0.0057 andK/Β += 31.3±2.0 were obtained for22Na and65Zn, respectively. A detailed comparison with previous data is made. Theoretical ratios were calculated using the most recent Fermi and Coulomb functions. It was found an excellent agreement between our experimental data and the theoretical results evaluated without including contributions due to induced interactions.

2,12% OFe.
Notes: Summary With most of the sponge iron samples the bromine/methanol (10 min, 20°C) and the ferric chloride methods provide very reliable results for the determination of metallic iron. In case of critical samples having a special composition, the bromine/methanol procedure yields too low results and the ferric method provides approximate values only. In case of carbide-rich mixtures, the ferric chloride method shows rather low values. With a new quick photometric modification of the Br2/methanol technique a standard deviation of 〈 0.20% Femet is obtained for 70–90% of metalic Fe, what is well comparable to the conventional titration method. The experimental determination of O2 bound to Fe as a measure for the reduction state is performed by selective reduction with H2 and measuring the infrared spectra of the formed water vapours. In case of two Purofer mixtures 2.40 resp. 2.04% OFe were determined, the calculated values according to the previous methods amounting to 2.30 resp. 2.12% OFe.
