Notes: Abstract Thed c-conductivity of interacting Brownian particles diffusing in a periodic potential is investigated. An approximate method is used which relates the conductivity to the spatial variation of the particle density. Numerical results are given for arbitrary temperatures, moderate densities and various forms of the pair potential.

Notes: Abstract We discuss the cross sections for neutron scattering and light scattering from a superionic conductor. The motion of the mobile ions is treated as an independent continuous diffusion process through a periodic potential. While this determines the neutron scattering intensity completely, the light scattering is, in addition, strongly influenced by the spatial variation of the polarizability. This leads to selection rules and to differences between the two kinds of spectra. We present a rather complete study of a one-dimensional model which displays the general features of the problem. The results are based on a numerically accurate solution of the corresponding Fokker-Planck equation.

Notes: Abstract We discuss the static and dynamic phenomena connected with the Brownian motion of a particle in a periodic potential. Specifically we consider the dynamic mobility and the dynamic structure factor. We show with numerical examples how translational and oscillatory motion show up in these quantities. The calculations are done for the onedimensional case. A main tool is the continued fraction expansion of the relevant correlation functions. It enables us, for example, to obtain numerically accurate results for the mobility in a cosine potential. Possible applications of this model lie in the fields of superionic conductors and molecular crystals with rotational diffusion.

Notes: Summary Thirty-two human placentas from normal and from pregnancies complicated by preeclampsia in last third of gestation were morphologically and morphometrically examined and correlated with human placenta-lactogen blood-level. HPL was determined by the radio-immunoassay (Carbon-Dextran-method). HPL-values, placenta villous surface, the weight of the newborn and placenta showed significant correlation. The placentas were classified according to the morphologic degree of severity (placenta-morphological-index) and compared to preeclamptic index (Goecke) and HPL-values. The results showed correlation between the studied datas according to the severity of preeclampsia. The significance of these results is discussed.
