Reactivity of Heteroolefines to Nickel(O) and Nickel(II) Organocompounds: Reaction of Diethyl Malonate as a Probe for the Ability of the Complexes for Oxidative SubstitutionThe reactivity of different nickel(O) complexes and bipy Ni(C2H5)2 to diethyl malonate is investigated. Only complexes with a high electronic density at the central atom are able to react under oxidative substitution. The level of the HOMO (complex) is variied by neutral ligands with different π acidities. The structure of the compound bipy Ni[CH(COOC2H5)2]2 is determined by UV/VIS, IR, MS, and magnetic measurements.

Die Reaktivität von verschiedenen Nickel(O)-komplexen und von bipy Ni(C2H5)2 gegenüber Malonsäurediethylester wird untersucht. Es wird gezeigt, daß nur bei geeignet hoher Elektronendichte am Zentralatom, die durch unterschiedliche Neutralliganden eingestellt werden kann, eine definierte Reaktion unter C—H-Aktivierung des Malonesters erfolgt.Die Struktur der Komplexverbindung bipy Ni[CH(COOC2H5)2]2 wird mit Hilfe von UV-VIS, IR- und Massenspektren sowie von Magnetmessungen bestimmt.
