    Notes: Summary Lanthanum had a small effect on the barrier, but did not significantly increase its sodium or patossium permeability. There was no effect on nerve conduction unless the barrier was deliberately damaged. The results lend confidence to the use of lanthanum as an extracellular tracer.

    Notes: Summary Using the anaesthetic effects of the alcohols to measure their concentration within the cockroach central nervous system, it is shown that the lower homologues have access half-times of only a few seconds. Slower access of the higher homologues is interpreted in terms of a reservoir effect resulting from their higher liposolubility.

    Description / Table of Contents: Sommaire Décrit un circuit permettant d'utiliser la capacité d'entrée d'un circuit intégré comme capacité de feedback pour neutraliser la capacité totale d'entrée et également pour injecteur des pulsations de courant à l'entrée. Comparé avec la méthode conventionnelle consistant à ajouter des condensateurs discrets pour effecter ces fonctions, ce dispositif a une capacité totale plus faible à l'entrée, ce qui réduit les bruits de haute fréquence produits par l'amplificateur et facilite l'obtention d'une capacité efficace faible. Une version modifiée dotée d'un courant d'entrée très faible (0,1 pA) ce qui permet son utilisation avec des microélectrodes sensibles aux ions, est également décrite.
    Abstract: Zusamenfassung Es wird eine Schaltung beschrieben, welche die Verwendung der Eingangskapazität einer integrierten FET-Eingangsschaltung sowohl als Rückkopplungskapazität zur Neutralisation der Gesamteingangskapazität, wie auch zum Anlegen von Stromimpulsen in den Eingang gestattet. Verglichen mit der konventionellen Methode der Hinzufügung gesonderter Kondensatoren zur Ausführung dieser Funktionen führt diese Konzeption zu einer niedrigeren Gesamtkapazität am Eingang, wodurch das durch den Verstärker verursachte HF-Rauschen reduziert und die Erzielung einer niedrigen effektiven Kapazität erleichtert wird. Ein abggewandelte Version mit einem ultraniedrigen (0·1 pA) Eingangsstrom für Verwendung mit ionen-empfindlichen Mikroelektroden wird ebenfalls beschrieben.
    Notes: Abstract A circuit is described which allows the input capacitance of an f.e.t. input integrated circuit to be used both as the feedback capacitance to neutralise the total input capacitance and to inject current pulses into the input. Compared with the conventional method of adding discrete capacitors to perform these functions, this design results in a lower total capacitance at the input, which reduces the high-frequency noise generated by the amplifier and facilitates the achievement of a low effective capacitance. A modified version having an ultralow (0·1pA) input current, for use with ion-sensitive microelectrodes, is also described.
