Die Polymerisation von Methylmethacrylat wurde in Schwefeldioxid enthaltendem Wasser in Gegenwart von Graphitpulver durchgeführt. Die Polymerisation wurde mit einer Redoxreaktion zwischen in Graphit enthaltener Asche und HSO⊖3 gestartet. In PMMA eingekapseltes Graphitpulver wurde in hoher Ausbeute erhalten.Polymerisationsmechanismus und Einkapselung werden diskutiert.

The polymerization of methyl methacrylate was carried out in the presence of graphite powder in water medium containing sulfur dioxide. The polymerization was initiated by a redox reaction between ash in graphite and HSO3⊖. Graphite powder encapusulated with polymethyl methacrylate was obtained in high yield.The mechanism of the polymerization and the capusulation are discussed.
