Zusammenfassung Stelzner berichtete 1967 and 1971 caber 61 Kranke, die mit gutem Ergebnis durch eine Sperroperation behandelt warden. Er empfahl damals such die Fundektomie und würdigte ihre vielfältige Wirksamkeit neben der Varicenunterbrechung: Beseitigung der Ulcusdiathese beim Cirrhotiker and Ausschaltung der splenogenen Markhemmung. Mit dieser Methode haben wir inzwischen 24 Kranke versorgt. Keiner hat innerhalb dieser 2 Jahre wieder geblutet. Die Mortalität wird von der Grundkrankheit diktiert.

Summary Stelzner reported in 1967 and 1971 on 61 patients treated by esophageal transection. At that time he recommended the fundectomy and emphasized its various effects, in particular the elimination of uncontrollable hemorrhage with esophageal varices, the ulcus diathesis in cirrhotic patients and the splenogenic tbrombopenia. In the last two years 24 patients have been treated by this method. During this period none of the patients has had a fresh hemorrhage. Mortality depends on the basic disease.
