Furfuryl mercaptan has been found to form soluble and sparingly soluble complexes with metals. The composition and stabilities of the soluble complexes of uranyl [1], zinc [2], thorium [3], lanthanum and cerium [4] have already been reported by the authors. The present communication describes the composition of sparingly soluble complexes of Cu(II), Hg(II) and Ag with furfuryl mercaptan by amperometric, condutometric and potentiometric methods and the determination of their solubility products by polarographic technique applying RINGBOM's method.
