Zusammenfassung Es sind drei methaqualonhaltige Präparate untersucht worden. Die Versuchspersonen nahmen nüchtern therapeutische Dosen Methaqualon ein. Der Gipfel des Methaqualonspiegels wurde 1 bis 2 Std nach der Einnahme erreicht. Von der 3. Std an beobachtete man ein deutliches Absinken des Methaqualonspiegels. Es konnte ein eindeutiger Unterschied in der Resorptionsgeschwindigkeit zwischen der Base und dem Hydrochlorid beobachtet werden.

Abstract Serial plasma methaqualone levels have been determined in normal fasting subjects after therapeutic doses of each of three preparations of the drug. Peak levels were reached within 1 to 2 h, with a subsequent rapid fall, and the data indicate that the hydrochloride of methaqualone is more quickly absorbed than the base.
