    Description / Table of Contents: Cyclization Reactions in Six- and Seven-membered Heterocyclic Systems2,3-Dihydro-4-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-1,5-benzothiazepin (3) reacts with acid anhydrides to form derivatives of 7H-[1]benzopyrano[3,4-c][1,5]benzothiazepine 6. An analogous ring closure occurs with anhydrides and 2,3-dihydro-4-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-1H-1,5-benzodiazepine (2). The derivatives of benzothiazine and quinoxaline 18 and 21, respectively, react correspondingly, but deviating reactions are shown by the non-annelated thiazepine 4 and the diazepine 5b.
    Notes: 2,3-Dihydro-4-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-1,5-benzothiazepin (3) reagiert mit Säureanhydriden unter Bildung von Derivaten des 7H-[1]Benzopyran0[3,4-c][I,5]benzothiazepins 6, eine analoge Ringschlußreaktion tritt mit dem 2,3-Dihydro-4-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-1H-1,5-benzodiazepin (2) und Anhydriden ein. Während auch die Benzothiazin- und Chinoxalinderivate 18 bzw. 21 in entsprechender Weise reagieren, zeigten das nicht benzokondensierte Thiazepin 4 sowie das Diazepin 5b abweichende Reaktionen.
