    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Die Acylierung von 2-Amino-3.3-diphenyl-5-methyl-1-pyrrolin (1) und 2-Amino-3.3-diphenyl-1-pyrrolin (2) erfolgt in den hier untersuchten Fällen am N-2-(exo)-Stickstoff. Die Umsetzung der cyclischen Amidine1 und2 mit BrCN gibt jedoch neben den N-2-(exo)-auch die N-1-(endo)-Cyanamidine. Diese werden in die entsprechenden Carbamoyl- und Thiocarbamoylamidine umgewandelt.
    Notes: Abstract Acylations of 2-amino-3.3-diphenyl-5-methyl-1-pyrroline (1) and 2-amino-3.3-diphenyl-1-pyrroline (2) occur at the N-2-(exo)-nitrogen. However, reaction of1 and2 with BrCN yields not only the N-2-(exo)-cyanoamidines but also the N-1-(endo)-isomers. Either is converted into the corresponding carbamoyl and thiocarbamoyl amidines.

    Description / Table of Contents: Abstract 3-Amino-5-methyl-4,5-dihydroisoxazole (1) was obtained from N-hydroxyurea and crotononitrile or allyl cyanide in alkaline solution. Use of hydroxylamine, however, gave only low yields of1. Attempts on an preparative scale to dehydrogenate1 to 3-amino-5-methylisoxazole (2) failed with the free compound as well as with its benzenesulfonamide derivatives. The 3-aminoisoxazoles2, 7, 9 and12 were found to be accessible without dehydrogenation by direct cyclization of 2.3-dibromocarbonitriles with N-hydroxyurea. Again, use of hydroxylamine instead of N-hydroxyurea gave only low yields or led to mixtures of 3-amino- and 5-aminoisoxazoles. The cyclic dibromocarbonitrile 1-cyano-1.2-dibromocyclohexane reacted anomalously to give 3-amino-5,6,7,7a-tetrahydro-1,2-benzisoxazole (13) instead of the expected 3-aminotetramethyleneisoxazole (14). An improved synthesis of the isomeric 5-aminotetramethyleneisoxazole (15) is described.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung Die Reaktion von N-Hydroxyharnstoff mit Crotonsäurenitril oder Allylcyanid führte zum 3-Amino-5-methyl-4,5-dihydroisoxazol, welches sich nicht zum 3-Amino-5-methylisoxazol dehydrieren ließ. Letztere Verbindung ist jedoch durch entsprechende Umsetzung von 2,3-Dibrombuttersäurenitril zugänglich. Diese Synthese wurde auf weitere α,β-Dibromcarbonsäurenitrile ausgedehnt. Als Ringschlußkomponente war N-Hydroxyharnstoff dem Hydroxylamin stets weit überlegen. Als cyclischer Vertreter der Dibromcarbonsäurenitrile ergab das 1-Cyan-1,2-dibromcyclohexan — in alkalischer Lösung mit Hydroxyharnstoff umgesetzt — in anormaler Reaktion — das 3-Amino-5,6,7,7a-tetrahydro-1,2-benzisoxazol (13), anstelle des erwarteten 3-Aminotetramethylenisoxazols (14). Für das isomere 5-Aminotetramethylenisoxazol (15) wird eine verbesserte Synthese gegeben.

    Notes: Summary Asteroid forms can be seen in spherules and free spores of Coccidioides immitis. This special perifungal substance has the same shape and similar histochemical properties like those of Actinomycetaceae and subcutaneous Phycomycosis (more see later: Bader et al.). Capsules of Cryptococcus neoformans and of spores of Rhinosporidium seeberi have a different histochemical composition. It is evident that asteroid bodies are the histologic structure of antigen-antibody reactions. The spore of Coccidioides immitis has the most antigenic property. When asteroid bodies are found the questions raised in the pathologic diagnose are: a) what species of fungi ? b) what is the immunserologic situation of the patient ?

Mit zahlreichen Routinefärbungen und mit histochemischen Reaktionen wurden besonders untersucht: a) Germinativzone des Sporangium, b) Aufbau der Spore, c) Struktur der Implantationsform.
    Notes: Summary The generative cycle of Rhinosporidium seeberi is described with some new results and interpretations. With several routine statining methods and histochemical reactions it was possible to study especially the: a) germinative zone of the sporangium, b) structure of the spore, c) implantation form. Detailed histochemical studies of fungi causing visceral mycoses included also Rhinosporidium seeberi (Bader and Rohde, 1970; Bader, 1970). These results supplement and clarify previous findings (Ashworth, 1923; Karunaratne, 1964; Narayana Rao, 1966).

    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung An 0, 5, 10 und 20 Tage alten Meerschweinchen beiderlei Geschlechts wird die Wirkung konventioneller Röntgenstrahlen auf den Glykogenstoffwechsel der Retina untersucht. Wir bestrahlen mit 100 R, 500 R, 1000 R und 2000 R und untersuchen 24 Std post irrad. lichtmikroskopisch die Frühreaktion der Retina. Nach 100 R finden wir bereits Veränderungen in der Glykogenverteilung. In der inneren Schicht der Retina können wir bei den 5, 10 und 20 Tage alten Tieren nach Bestrahlung mit 500 R ein deutliches Maximum an Glykogen feststellen. Das neugeborene Tier zeigt hinsichtlich der Glykogenverteilung ein anderes Verhalten. Wir können daraus schließen, daß die Chemodifferenzierung der Retina erst im Alter von 5 Tagen beendet ist. Die kräftigsten PAS-Reaktionen liefern die Müllerschen Stützfasern. Die Befunde werden mit solchen, die am erwachsenen Meerschweinchen erhoben wurden, verglichen und die Ergebnisse diskutiert.
    Notes: Summary On guinea pigs of male and female sex the regional radiosensibility of the retina was tested on the day of birth and on the 5., 10. and 20. day of life. The head was exposed to conventional X-rays and a single dosis (100 R, 500 R, 1000 R and 2000 R) was given. All animals were sacrified 24 hours after exposure. The first alteration was seen at the glycogen content after exposure to 100 R. At the 5., 10. and 20. day of life glycogen content was incresed in the inner layers in the same manner as in adult animals. In newborn retina the distribution of glycogen differ greatly in regard of various layers. It is concluded that the development of the carbohydrate metabolism in guinea pig retina end about the 5th day of life. The results prove retinal glycogen to be concentrated in the inner and of Müller cell and probably it is a carbohydrate reserve to be used for anaerobic glycolysis. In conclusion the results are discussed with the vulnerability of the adult animal.
