Conclusions 1. The influence of a number of solvents (water, dimethylformamide, acetonitrile, acetone, nitromethane, the dimethyl ether of ethylene glycol, and ethyl acetate) on the position, integral intensity, and shape of the basic absorption bands in the IR spectra of anions of polynitroalkanes was studied. 2. In the IR spectra of solutions of salts of polynitroalkanes in certain solvents, the observable shifts of the absorption bands are explained by specific solvation of the trinitromethane, dinitromethane, and gemdinitromethane anions by the corresponding solvents.
