Notes:
Summary The autologous saphenal vein graft has proved its worth in surgical arterial reconstruction. If no autologous vein is available, as after recurrent reconstructions and no other arterial reconstruction (desobliteration) is advisable, the alloplastic autologous vascular prosthesis after Sparks can be used to treat chronic arterial vascular obstructions. We have so far performed seven successful reconstructions with the aid of this bypass technique. The figures show our material, the technique and our results.
