Note on VSbO4Pure VSbO4 has been prepared. The crystal structure is monoclinic but very similar to the rutile structure; the V and Sb atoms are distributed at random. The magnetic properties exclude the constitution SbIIIVVO4. They are in agreement with the constitution VIIISbIVO4 provided that the contribution of the orbital moment is rather high. But the magnetic data are also in agreement with the constitution VIVSbIVO4. The problem needs further investigations by physical methods.

Die Darstellung von VSbO4 in reinem Zustand wird beschrieben. Die Substanz kristallisiert in einem rutilähnlichen Gitter, das ganz schwach monoklin verzerrt ist; dieV-und Sb-Teilchen sind statistisch verteilt. Das magnetische Verhalten schließt die Konstitution SbIIIVVO4 aus; es ist mit der Formulierung VIIISbVO4 vereinbar, falls ein erheblicher Anteil des Bahnmoments vorliegt- Die magnetischen Eigenschaften stimmen aber auch gut für die Annahme VIVSbIVO4. Die endgültige Entscheidung über die Konstitution erfordert weitere Untersuchungen der physikalischen Eigenschaften.
