Notes:
An outline is given of a method for dealing with curved boundaries in finite difference calculations (relaxation or other similar techniques) where the gradient normal to the boundary is specified. Fluid flow calculations using the velocity potential are typical of such problems and the flow round a circular cylinder is computed as an example. The method makes no approximation which is not made in the usual finite difference techniques, therefore accuracy at the boundary is as good as in the remainder of the field.
