    Notes: Conclusions 1. The reaction of 1(3)-O-methyl ethers of 2-acetyl-1,3-cyclohexanediones with ammonia, primary and secondary aliphatic, aromatic, aliphatic-aromatic, and heterocyclic amines gave 3-amino-2-acetyl-2-cyclohexen-1-ones in high yields. 2. The reaction of the 1(3)-O-methyl ethers of 2-acetyl-3-cyclohexen-1-ones with hydrazine derivatives opens up the possibility of synthesizing heterocycles of the indazolone series. 3. Some of the physicochemical properties of the synthesized enaminodiketones were studied, and it was shown that they exhibit a low reactivity.

    Notes: Conclusions 1. A study was made of the circular dichroism (CD) spectra and UV absorption spectra of some epimeric at C-20 steroids of the pregnane and isopregnane series, containing the Δ4-3-keto grouping. 2. In the pregnane series the 20β-epimers are characterized by a higher amplitude of the n→π *-transition in the CD spectra than for their 20α-epimers. The reverse relationship is observed for the isopregnane series. The data of the UV absorption spectra are in agreement with the results of the CD spectra. 3. The CD curves and the UV absorption spectra can be used to study the remote interactions in steroids of the isopregnane and pregnane series. 4. The theory was expressed that the effect of substituents on a remote chromophore in the studied compounds is due mainly to the conformational transmission effect, caused by a change in the configuration at C-20 and C-17 of the asymmetric centers of the steroid molecule.

The salts of all of the transition metals of periods IV and V of the periodic system are active initiators for the carbonylation of piperidine with carbon monoxide at 200–300°C and a pressure of 10 atm. The salts of Cu, Sb, Cr, Co, and Ni have the highest activity, and in their presence the yield of formylpiperidine reached 84–98% when based on amine taken for reaction. 2. Based on the data of the electronic spectra, a correlation was found to exist between the chemical activity of the transition metal salts and the value of the energy of electron transfer from donor to acceptor in the complex of this salt with the amine, which is characterized by the position and intensity of the absorption maximum of the charge-transfer band.

    Notes: Abstract The UV spectra of Si-substituted silocyclobutanes in vacuum were studied. The bathochromic shift of the absorption band, disclosed by comparison with bands of the corresponding acyclic compounds, can be explained by the highly strained state of the four-membered ring. This same principle in disilocyclobutanes leads to the reduction of the barrier effect of the methylene group, disrupting the interaction of the silicon atoms in the unstrained molecule.

In the investigated thiophene derivatives, the influence of substituents on the spectrum is manifested in an increase in the bathochromic shift in the series OR〈SR〈SeR, in accord with the arrangement of the energy levels of the unshared pairs of the heteroatom of the substituent. 2. The intensity of the longwave band of Se-derivatives of the thiophene series is lower than the intensity of the longwave band in the corresponding S-derivatives, which is evidence of less overlapping of the electron clouds of the ring with the substituent SeR. 3. The transmission of the influence of substituents by the thiophene ring is minimal in 2,4-derivatives and a maximum in 2,5-derivatives, which is determined by the position of the substituent relative to the system of multiple bonds of the ring.

    Notes: Conclusions 1. 3-Amino-2-acetyl-2-cyclopenten-1-ones were obtained in 55–85% yield when the l(3)-O-methyl ether of 2-acetyl-1,3-cyclopentanedione was reacted with ammonia, and with primary and secondary amines. 2. According to the data of the absorption spectra and the PMR spectra the compounds that are formed from ammonia and primary amines exist predominantly in the enaminodiketone form, with a strong intramolecular hydrogen bond. 3. The synthesized enaminodiketones exhibit a low reactivity.
