Description / Table of Contents: Summary The reduction by shrinkage is rarely taken into consideration explicitely in inventory models. In the cases that really do so the approach is not worked out exactly. By consequence the optimal lot-size is too much reduced. Therefore the optimal lot-size in consideration of shrinkage is here newly derived. We are getting an exponential function. The various forms of optimal lot-sizes are compared to another in a numerical example and an approximation sufficient in most cases is given to your disposal.
