Description / Table of Contents:
Notes:
Summary An analytical method is described which makes possible the determination of small amounts of brucine in plant material and nutrient solutions. The separation of brucine from other plant substances in the extract is discussed. The quantitative determination of brucine is carried out in a spectrophotometer (Zeiss PMQ II) at 262 nm. It is shown that the law of Lambert-Beer is obeyed in a range of 0.1–2.5 mg brucine/100 ml solution.
