Zusammenfassung Bei der Ormondschen Erkrankung können ganz verschiedenartige Grundkrankheiten zu retroperitonealen Fibrosierungen führen und in der chirurgischen Praxis schwierige differentialdiagnostische Probleme aufgeben. Die Annahme einer idiopathischen Retroperitonealfibrose ist erst dann berechtigt, wenn symptomatische Formen ausgeschlossen sind. Sehr wichtig ist die Abgrenzung reaktiv-entzündlicher von neoplastischen Prozessen. In der Diagnostik hat sich hier die Übersichtsaortographie mit translumbaler Punktionstechnik bewährt.

Summary In Ormonds disease, the most varied basic disorders may lead to retroperitoneal fibrosis and create difficult problems in differential diagnosis in surgical practice. The assumption of an idiopathic retroperitoneal fibrosis is only justified, when all symptomatic forms have been eliminated. Differentiation between reactive-inflammatory and neoplastic processes is of the utmost importance. In this aspect of diagnosis, general aortography with the translumbar puncture technique has proved extremely valuable.
