Description / Table of Contents: Abstract The theory developed by the present author proposing a mechanism of pure heat conduction through a simplified system of growing and coalescing drops resulted in an only qualitativ reproduction of heat transfer measurements at atmospheric pressure and heat flux up to 0.8 MW/m2. In this paper the former treatment is extended by incorporating the interface resistance arising from molecular matter transfer which had been neglected before and furthermore by deducing the drop size from the density of nucleation sites achieved recently by microscopic experiments. The correlation obtained by these extensions predicts the heat transfer coefficient without the need of empirical adjusting constants. It is compared with experimental results in the range of 0.027 bar to atmospheric pressure and heat flux up to 2.5 MW/m2.
