Summary The changes in the coagulation system in blood stored in plastic bags and in non-siliconized glass bottles are qualitative similar, predominantly effecting factors. V and VIII and the number and function of the thrombozytes to a less extent. Fibrinogen, prothrombin, factors VII, IX and, to some extent, factor X prove to be stable on storage. On the whole, there is increasing hypocoagulability in stored blood. As compared with storage in glass bottles, conservation in plastic bags delays the reduction of coagulability by about a week. Erythrocytes and leucocytes are better preserved for a longer time in plastic bags [10,31] so that it is possible by this means to prolong the storage time without loss of biological abilities.

Zusammenfassung Die Veränderungen im Gerinnungssystem während der Lagerung sind in Plastikbeuteln und nichtsilikonisierten Glasflaschen qualitativ gleichartig. Sie betreffen vorwiegend die Faktoren V und VIII und in geringerem Maße auch die Thrombozytenzahl und ihre Funktion. Fibrinogen, Prothrombin, Faktor VII, IX und in etwa auch Faktor X erweisen sich als ausgesprochen lagerungsstabil. Insgesamt tritt eine zunehmende Hypokoagulabilität des konservierten Blutes ein. Werden Plastikbeutel zur Blutkonservierung verwandt, so verzögert sich die Verminderung der Gerinnungsfaktoren gegenüber der Konservierung in Glasflaschen um etwa eine Woche. Da in den Plastikbeuteln auch die Erythrozyten und Leucozyten besser und länger erhalten bleiben [10,31], scheint es also möglich, die Konservierungsdauer ohne Abnahme der biologischen Verwendungsfähigkeit auszudehnen.
