Summary Women with breast carcinoma were studied in regards to possible relationships between — the stage of growth of their carcinoma at the time of hospital admission — and specific events in their sexual development. The menarche, number of births, and the menopause had no effect on the stage of growth of the carcinoma. The localization of the breast carcinoma also played very little role; i.e., whether the women appeared early or late for treatment of their breast lesion. In contrast, previous breast diseases (e.g., fibrocystic disease) and the occurrence of breast carcinoma in the family or in relatives proved to be an effective incentive for the patients to seek medical care early in the course of their malignancy. Younger women came to the doctor earlier than the older.

Zusammenfassung Die Generationsvorgänge (Menarche, Geburtenzahl und Menopause) der an Mammacarcinom erkrankten Frauen haben keinen Einfluß darauf, in welchen Entwicklungsstadien des Carcinoms die Frauen in die Klinik aufgenommen wurden. Ebensowenig spielt die Lokalisation des Brustkrebs eine Rolle für das frühere oder spätere Erscheinen zur Behandlung. Dagegen bedeuten vorangegangene Brustaffektionen (Mastopathien) und das Vorkommen von Mammacarcinom-Erkrankungen in der Familie oder Verwandtschaft ein wirksames Motiv für die Frauen, um schon in den Anfangsstadien den Arzt aufzusuchen. Die jüngeren Frauen sind in dieser Hinsicht viel vorsichtiger, sie kommen eher, schon in den Frühstadien, als die älteren zur Behandlung.
