Notes: Summary Growth of Brown-Pearce rabbit tumor in tissue culture is powerfully inhibited by serum from goats which had been immunized against this tumor. Removal from the immune serum of unspecific organ antibodies, by adsorption on formalin-treated rabbit tissues, gave a highly specific antitumor serum, which inhibited growth of explants to the same extent as did the untreated serum. It is concluded that the inhibitory effect is due to the presence of specific antitumor antibodies.

Notes: Summary If intratesticular tissue of Brown-Pearce carcinoma is inoculated in rabbits following irradiation by x-rays in vitro (2000–20 000 r) the biological properties of the tumor cells are altered, the latent period of the tumor development prolonged, the life span increased, and atypical development, and in some cases, even complete resolution of the tumor are observed. The intensity of the metioned changes depends directly upon the dose of irradiation. As compared with a dose of 20,000 r the changes in the biological properties of the tumor cells after irradiation with 2000 r were found to be more pronounced.

Notes: Summary The work deals with the study of the effect of penetrating radiation (particularly of x-rays) on the antigenic structure of the Brown-Pearce carcinoma cells as well as with the establishment of a relationship between the irradiation doses and the changes in the antigenic structure of the tumor tissue. The data obtained show that x-rays produce a change in the antigenic structure of the Brown-Pearce carcinoma. It varies depending on the irradiation dose (2000 r, 5000 r, 10,000 r and 20,000 r). The higher the irradiation dose the greater the changes of the antigenic structure of the irradiated tumor tissue.

Notes: Summary This work deals with the effect of remote reimmunization of rabbits with antigens of the tissue of mice Ehrlich's tumor on the production of the antitumor antibodies. The data obtained demonstrate that following remote reimmunization with antigens of the tumor tissue the titer of the antitumor antibodies was considerably higher and the velocity of their production was greater that after primary immunization. After the second immunization all the rabbits reacted in about the same way, regardless of the antigen dose.

Notes: Summary The antigen dosage of the Ehrlich's ascitic tumor tissue employed, in immunization of rabbits has a considerable effect on the titer of specific antibodies. However, the antitumor antibody production depends directly on the dosate of the antigens only when administered up to a certain moment following which an increase of the dose does not promote the rise of the specific antibody After cessation of immunization the antibody production has an undulating character. At one time it is the antitumor antibodies that prevail in the serum, while at the other, the antisplenic antibodies, By a constant serological control of dynamics of the antibody production it is possible to obtain a serum with a considerable prevalence of the antitumor antibodies.
