Notes: The mechanism of the reaction between cupric ion and the cadmium complex of ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid (= H4Y) has been studied. The reaction proceeds simultaneously via four different reaction paths brought about through the collision of the cation Cu+2 with the anions CdY-2, CdHY-, HY-3, H2Y-2 which are in permanent equilibrium with each other. The rate constants of these four bimolecular reactions have been evaluated and discussed.

Notes: In solutions containing ethylenediamine „en“, and Silver(I), the complexes: AgHen+2, Ag(en)+, Ag2(en)+2 Ag(en)+2 and, surprisingly, Ag2(en)2+2 are formed. The stability constants of these complexes have been evaluated. The existence of the dimeric form of Ag(en)+, probably a 10-membered ring compound, has been prooved also with cryoscopic measurements, using the cristalline sulfate: [Ag2en2]SO4.

Notes: The equilibria in solutions containing each one of the diamines H2N—(CH2)n—NH2, with n = 3 (“pn”), n = 4 (“tn”), n = 5 (“cad”), piperazin (“pip”) and triethylenediamine (“enpip”) in presence of an excess of silver nitrate have been investigated. Values are given for the stability constants of the complexes: Ag(pn)+, Ag(tn)+, Ag(cad)+, Ag(pip)+, Ag(enpip)+, the hydrogen complexes: Ag(Hpn)+2, Ag(Htn)+2, Ag(Hpip)+2 and the bimetallic complexes: Ag2(pn)+2, Ag2(pip)+2.
