    Notes: Summary Components of the86Rb+-influx in HeLa cells were investigated in Joklik minimal essential medium, or in Earle's balanced salt solution with and without medium amino acids. The presence of amino acids led to the stimulation of the ouabain sensitive86Rb+-uptake and inhibition of the diuretic-sensitive and residual86Rb+-fluxes. These results show that the presence of amino acids is an important regulator of the K+/Rb+-fluxes under normal conditions in growth medium.

    Notes: Abstract We present a relativistic Hartree-Fock calculation of the parity violatingE1-matrixelement of the 6s↔7s transition in cesium. Our resultE1= −8.4·10−12 iea 0 for sin2 θ w = 0.22 is in good agreement with the experimental value. We also give a general discussion of the consequences of a violation of discrete symmetries for the solutions of the Dirac equation.

    Description / Table of Contents: A survey on the modifications of boron known today is given. Experiments are described for preparing boron crystals containing Be by decomposing BBr3 and BeBr2 on a hot tantal wire. Together with inhomogenous depositions on the surface of the wire, single-crystals of boron containing 0,1-0,5% Be have been isolated. The crystals have the tetragonal unit cell of β-boron
    Notes: Nach einem Überblick über die bisher bekannten Bor-Modifikationen werden Versuche beschrieben, durch gemeinsames Zersetzen von BBr3 BeBr2 am glühenden Tantaldraht Borkristalle mit eingelagertem Beryllium darzustellen. Neben inhomogenen Abscheidungen an der Drahtoberfläche, die Tantaldiborid enthielten, wurden Einkristalle isoliert, die nach spektralanalytischer Untersuchung 0,1-0,5% Be enthielten und auf Grund von Drehkristall- und Weißenbergaufnahmen die Kristallstruktur des tetragonalen Bor mit den Zelldimensionen a = 8,80 Å und c = 5,08 Å besitzen.

    Description / Table of Contents: The conditions for preparing the Be-richest phase in the system Be/B are examined. The compound has the composition Be4B. The unit cell is tetragonal, space-group P 4/nmm, with 8 Be and 2 B atoms within the cell. The positions of the atoms are determined by two-dimensional FOURIER syntheses and refinement. The structure of Be4B is discussed with respect to the tendency of boron to share 8 electrons.
    Notes: Die Zusammensetzung der berylliumreichsten Phase des Systems Be/B wird zu Be4B bestimmt und ihre Darstellungsbedingungen und Struktur untersucht. Die tetragonale Elementarzelle enthält 8 Be- und 2 B-Atome. Raumgruppe ist P4/nmm. Die Atomlagen sind speziell und erfordern nur die Bestimmung von 3 z-Koordinaten, die durch zweidimensionale FOURIER-Synthesen und anschließende Verfeinerung ermittelt werden konnten. Die vorliegende Struktur läßt sich durch das Bestreben des Boratoms, durch Bindungsbeziehungen zu den benachbarten Be-Atomen ein Elektronenoktett zu erhalten, erklären.
