Notes: Abstract Our purpose was to assess the value of threedimensional (3D) CT angiography in the diagnosis of moyamoya disease. We studied seven patients with moyamoya disease proved by conventional angiography. Three-dimensional (3D) CT angiography was performed using rapid sequence or helical (spiral) scanning in conjunction with a bolus injection of intravenous contrast medium. All seven patients could be diagnosed as having moyamoya disease on the basis of the following 3D CT angiographic findings: poor visualisation of the main trunks and/or major branches of anterior and middle cerebral arteries (7 patients); dilated leptomeningeal anastomotic channels from the posterior cerebral arteries (4); and demonstration of “moyamoya vessels” in the basal ganglia (2). Although conventional angiography remains the principal imaging technique for demonstrating anatomical changes in detail, less invasive 3D CT angiography provides a solid means of diagnosing moyamoya disease when it is suspected on CT, MRI, or clinical grounds.

Notes: Abstract The relativistic3 P 0 model is applied to the $$p\bar p$$ annihilation into twoS-wave mesons. We calculate the branching ratios of the $$p\bar p$$ annihilation at rest into two mesons in the quark rearrangement model and in the quark annihilation model. In the annihilation model, we project the intermediate $$cq\bar q$$ state to eigenstates ofSU (4) with the relative angular momentum of $$cq\bar q$$ equals orp. In the rearrangement model, no annihilation occurs from theS-wave $$p\bar p$$ and certain branching ratios conflict with the experimental data. Detailed comparison with the experiment needs inclusion ofP-wave mesons in the final state, nevertheless we find that the annihilation model gives qualitatively better results than the rearrangement model. The effect of initial state interaction through $$N\bar \Delta \pm \Delta \bar {\rm N}$$ or $$\Delta \bar \Delta $$ channels is discussed.

Notes: Abstract Within the framework of the constituent quark model we discuss the effects of different types of meson-baryon-baryon vertex operators on the form factors and the coupling strengths of the lowest-lying positive and negative parity non-strange baryons. We compare the quark pair creation model (3P0-model) with the SU(6)-model in which mesons are treated as elementary fields that directly couple to the quarks. The latter model is employed both in the so-called static limit and in a modification motivated by Galilei invariance. It is demonstrated that the inclusion of non-static effects simulates some features of the3P0 vertex. Especially the reaction πN→ππN is found to be very sensitive to the different assumptions on the dynamics of theq¯q pair creation process. More indirect hints for the internal structure of the mesons might be obtained from the predicted asymmetry for the two form factors ofN→Δ+π andΔ→N+π, which occurs in the3P0-model, only.
