    Notes: Abstract The extrapolation properties of the relativistic mean-field model are investigated in nuclear matter. The results of a recent relativistic Bethe-Brueckner-Gatdstone calculation are taken as ‘data”. Fits in a window of normal nuclear densities are extrapolated to large densities and compared with the ‘data’. We find large discrepancies which hint at an insufficiency of the model in its present parametrisation.

    Notes: Abstract The ground-state structure and shape parameters of neutral and singly charged simple metal clusters with up to 40 valence electrons have been calculated within the cylindrically averaged pesudopotential scheme (CAPS). Na and Ba have been chosen as typical monovalent and divalent metals. The obtained structures agree very well with the results of more elaborate methods. A simple growth pattern for the most stable ionic geometries is deduced. The ionic and electronic multipole moments from CAPS are very similar to those of the structure averaged jellium model (SAJM) and of the plasma model. The surface energies derived from the CAPS results agree with experimental values.

    Notes: Abstract We take up a relativistic mean-field model consisting out of nucleons coupled to a scalar and a vector meson. We solve the corresponding time-dependent mean-field equations on a three-dimensional grid. Results for16O +16O scattering at various energies and various impact parameters show significant differences with conventional TDHF calculations. We see sidewards collective flow similar as in fluid dynamics and in experiment. We observe complete spallation and remarked oscillations of the meson fields.
