    Optimization of Polypyrrole Chemical Synthesis by Heat Flow Reaction Calorimetry (1999)

    Notes: Abstract Chemical polymerization of pyrrole (Py) was carried out in a reaction calorimeter by using FeCl3 or CuCl2 as an oxidant in an acetonitrile medium. The formation heat of polypyrrole (PPy), determined under a wide range of reactant concentrations and reaction temperatures, is directly related to the PPy yields and to the degree of polymerization. Due to the negative values of both the entropy and enthalpy of the reaction the gravimetric yield is inversely related to the temperature and directly to the Py concentration. The yields to the PPy and the related reaction heats, are close to zero when the ‘ceiling temperatures’ are reached (Tceil=348 K for Fe-doped and Tceil=313 K for Cu-doped PPys). It was observed that a ‘ceiling concentration’ corresponds to each ‘ceiling temperature’ and only light oligomers are formed if Py concentration is too low. The electric conductivity values of the products were also determined and a direct relationship to the yields was found as well. The highest electric conductivity value (C=0.6 S cm−1) was related to the PPy fresh synthesized from a 0.017 M Py solution.

    Notes: Abstract Photons emitted in the28 Si+64 Ni and32 S+64 Ni reactions at 143 MeV and 156 MeV incident energy respectively, have been detected in coincidence with the ejected charged fragments. An array of 48 BaF2 γ-rays detector and 6 solid state silicon detector telescopes have been used. Photon energy spectra measured in the energy range from 2 to 20 MeV in coincidence with ejectiles coming from deep inelastic reactions, are consistent with statistical emission from the reaction products.

    Description / Table of Contents: Die binären und ternären Gleichgewichte im System MoO3 - TeO2 - Al2O3 wurden rötgenographisch untersucht. Bei 750°C in Luft wurden in diesem System die im Abstract angegebenen koexistierenden Bereiche gefunden. Eine Bildung ternärer Verbindungen konnten im untersuchten Temperaturbereich (450 - 750°C) nicht beobachtet werden.
    Notes: The binary and ternary equilibrium reactions of Al2O3 with TeO2 and MoO3 were studied by X-ray diffraction methods and the following compatibility ranges were determined in the TeO2 - MoO3 - Al2O3 system at 750°C in air: TeO2, Te2MoO7, Al2TeO6; Te2MoO7, MoO3, Al2TeO6; MoO3, Al2(MoO4)3, Al2TeO6; Al2(MoO4)3, Al2O3, Al2TeO6. Ternary compound formation was not observed in the temperature range investigated (450 - 750°C).Phasengleichgewichte im System MoO3 - TeO2 - Al2O3.
