Notes: Abstract The 16 O+ 15 N reaction products have been studied by the γ-ray detection method in the CM energy range 15.5 to 36.1 MeV and by the kinematical coincidence method at energies ranging from E CM =20.6 to 33.5MeV. The γ-ray yield excitation function of the 16O 3− inelastic channel shows the existence of resonant structures. Two structures with ∼ 1.6 MeV width are observed in the large angle elastic scattering excitation function, they are correlated with the resonances seen in the inelastic channel. Angular momentum assignments were made from the elastic backward angular distributions.

Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung.
Notes: Summary. We present a necrosis of the big toe in a 20-year-old woman with an ingrowing toenail after wedge-shaped excision in the big toe. The reason for the necrosis was a tourniquet that was left in place after the operation. The ischemia, which lasted for 2 days, resulted in subtotal necrosis of the big toe. Six weeks after the operation the patient underwent microsurgical reconstruction. This is a report on the treatment of this complication from the beginning. Early surgical intervention is advocated.

Notes: Abstract  Mutations causing a visible phenotype in the adult serve as valuable visible genetic markers in multicellular genetic model organisms such as Drosophila melanogaster, Caenorhabditis elegans and Arabidopsis thaliana. In a large scale screen for mutations affecting early development of the zebrafish, we identified a number of mutations that are homozygous viable or semiviable. Here we describe viable mutations which produce visible phenotypes in the adult fish. These predominantly affect the fins and pigmentation, but also the eyes and body length of the adult. A number of dominant mutations caused visible phenotypes in the adult fish. Mutations in three genes, long fin, another long fin and wanda affected fin formation in the adult. Four mutations were found to cause a dominant reduction of the overall body length in the adult. The adult pigment pattern was found to be changed by dominant mutations in wanda, asterix, obelix, leopard, salz and pfeffer. Among the recessive mutations producing visible phenotypes in the homozygous adult, a group of mutations that failed to produce melanin was assayed for tyrosinase activity. Mutations in sandy produced embryos that failed to express tyrosinase activity. These are potentially useful for using tyrosinase as a marker for the generation of transgenic lines of zebrafish.

Notes: Abstract Excitation functions for12C+12C elastic and inelastic scattering to 2+ level have been measured over the energy range 30–60 MeV (cm) by 250 keV steps using the kinematical coincidence method. The intermediate structure resonances disappear aboveE cm=35 MeV while the broad and irregular structure becomes a general feature of the interaction at higher energies.

Notes: Abstract The14C+16O reaction has been studied by a kinematic coincidence technique at 17 incident energies ranging fromE c.m.=21.05 to 32.1 MeV. Three broad resonances previously reported at approximately 23, 27 and 31 MeV were confirmed and observed in several channels. The evolution of the elastic angular distributions was correlated with these three resonances.
