Notes: Abstract Photoluminescence of ZnO ceramics irradiated with electrons of 0.8 MeV and 2.6 MeV energy has been investigated. The irradiated samples have been annealed in air at temperatures up to 1100° C. Irradiation causes quenching of the PL green band and as a consequence a peak at 470 nm emerges. Results indicate that part of the quenching can be attributed to damage in the oxygen sublattice.
