Description / Table of Contents:
Notes:
Summary From January 1977 through December 1979, 72 kidney transplantations were made. All recipients received transfusions according to a special plan. The development of lymphocytotoxic antibodies, the waiting time, and the function of the transplant were checked. Of the total patients, 65% never developed antibodies. After one year, the survival rate of the transplants was 72%; after two years, survival was 69%. The better results after our transfusion program were not achieved by selection. A few high responders had to wait longer, but all of them finally received a transplant.
