Notes:
Symptoms of oxygen deficiency and variations in dissolved-oxygen level have been described in some typical aerobic fermentations. In bacterial fermentations, dissolved-oxygen levels were almost the same in different parts of the fermentor. As a result, good correlations between apparent and true critical oxygen concentrations were obtained. Poor correlations were obtained in mould fermentations.
