Notizen: Abstract Background: Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection has been postulatedto be a pathogenetic factor in gastric lymphoma. However, the etiologicalfactors for gastric lymphoma could vary in different populations. Materials and methods: We looked for histological evidence of H. pyloriinfection in 53 gastrectomy specimens from Hong Kong Chinese patients withprimary gastric B-lymphoma. We also screened for Epstein–Barr virus(EBV) in these cases using in situ hybridization with oligonucleotide probesfor EBV-encoded small RNA1 and 2. Results: H. pylori was found in 29/53 (55%), including 8/13(62%) cases of low-grade lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoidtissue (MALT) type. These infection rates in gastric lymphoma are lower thanthose reported in Western populations (80%–100%) andcomparable to that found in healthy Chinese blood donors (55%) or innon-ulcer dyspeptic patients (52%–57%). EBV was found intumor cells only in one case of high-grade gastric lymphoma with low-gradeMALT component which was H. pylori-negative, and in occasional nontumorlymphoid cells in 7 other cases. Conclusions: These results suggest that (1) the role of H.pylori in pathogenesis of gastric lymphoma may vary in different populations;(2) very few gastric lymphomas are associated with EBV; (3) not all low-gradegastric MALT lymphomas are H. pylori-dependent.

Notizen: Summary 2-Diphenylphosphinato-1,3,2-dioxaborolanes and -borinanes of the type (whereG = -CH2CHMe-, -CH2CH2CH2-, -CH2CH2CHMe-,-CMe2CMe2-, -CMe2CH2CHMe-,-CH2CMe2CH2-, -CH2CEt2CH2-, and -C6H4-) are obtained by the reaction of diphenylphosphinic acid with the corresponding 2,2′-oxo-bis-1,3,2-dioxaborolanes and-borinanes. The products are white crystalline solids, which have sharp melting points and are hydrolytically stable. They have been characterized by elemental analysis, IR and multinuclear NMR (11B,31P, and119Sn) studies. The data suggest structures with monodentate phosphinato moieties and 3-coordinated boron atoms.

    Beschreibung / Inhaltsverzeichnis: Organische Derivate des Zinns. III. Reaktionen des Trialkylzinnäthoxids mit Aminoalkoholen.Die Reaktionen von Tributylzinnäthoxid, Bu3SnOC2H5, mit N,N-Dialkylaminoalkoholen ergeben Bu3SnORNR2- (R = s. Abstract). Bei Reaktionen von Bu3SnOC2H5 mit N-Methyläthanolamin, HOCH2 · CH2NHMe, und verschiedenen Aminoalkoholen, HORNH2 (R = s.Abstract) reagieren sowohl Hydroxyl- wie auch Aminogruppen unter Bildung von Verbindungen wie Bu3SnOCH2 · CH2NHMe, Bu3SnOCH2 · CH2NMeSnBu3, Bu3SnO · R · NH2, Bu3SnO · R · NH · SnBu3 bzw. Bu3SnO · R · N(SnBu3)2. Mit o-Aminophenol wird nur Bu3SnO · C6H4NH2 gebildet.
    Notizen: The reactions oi tributyltin ethoxide, Bu3SnOEt, with N,N-dialkylalkanolamines, HORNR2 (where R = —CH2 · CH2—, —CH2 · CH2 · CH2— and —CH2 · MeCH—; R = —CH3 and —C2H5) give Bu3SnORNR2. In reactions of Bu3SnOEt with N-methylethanolamine, HOCH2 · CH2NHMe, and various alkanolamines, HO · R · NH2, (where R = —CH2 · CH2— —CH2 · CH2 · CH2—, —CHMe · CH2— —CH2 · Me2C— and —CH2 · CH · CH2 · Me) both the hydroxy as well as the amino groups show reactivity to form products of the type: Bu3SnOCH2 · CH2NHMe, Bu3SnOCH2 · CH2NMeSnBu3, Bu3SnO · R · NH2, Bu3SnO · R · NHSnBu3, and Bu3SnO · R · N(SnBu3)2, respectively. The reaction between Bu3SnOEt and o-aminophenol yields only Bu3SnO · C6H4NH2.

Notizen: An analysis of the Raman and infrared spectra of di-potassium tartrate hemi-hydrate (DKT), K2C4H4O6·½H2O, is reported. It has been inferred that the C4H4O62- ion and H2O molecule in a DKT crystal occupy points of C1 site symmetry. Various units of C4H4O62- ion/(H2O molecule) located at crystallographically distinguishable positions in this crystal do not appear to be different in their structure or the force fields governing their vibrational dynamics.
