Notes: Summary A reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatographic method is described for the qualitative and quantitative determination of carotenoid pigments in citrus fruits. By using gradient elution, a fast and efficient separation of complex carotenoid mixtures was achieved in a one-step procedure. Retention times and peak areas were of good reproducibility. The method may also be applied to other plant carotenoid extracts.
