    Notes: Cleavage of the exocyclic Si-Si-bond of phenyldimethysilylnonamethylcyclopentasilane 3 by sodium ethoxide followed by chlorination with acetyl chloride leads to the monofunctional chlorononamethylcyclopentasilane 5. Subsequent hydration gives hydrononamethylcyclopentasilane 6, which can be easily converted to the corresponding bromo and iodo derivatives 7, 8. Fluorononamethylcyclopentasilane can be prepared upon treatment of 7 with ZnF2. A different but convenient synthetic pathway to the halononamethylcyclopentasilanes has also been achieved employing the corresponding trifluoromethanesulfonic acid ester 11. The halogen derivatives - as expected - show a strong influence on the physical properties of the compounds.These functionalized cyclopentasilanes may serve as useful synthetic tools in building larger oligosilane ring systems.

    Description / Table of Contents: Preparation and Characterization of Cyclohexasilane Si6H12A preparation route is described in detail for the first synthesis of Si6H12, starting from the full phenylated Si6-cycle. With the aid of AlCl3/HCl all phenyl groups are splitted off and the yielded Si6Cl12 is hydrogenated with LiAlH4. Si6H12 is characterized by means of different kinds of spectras and their properties.
    Notes: Es wird eine Darstellungsmethode für die erstmalige Synthese von Si6H12 aus dem perphenyliertem Si6-Ring ausführlich beschrieben, wobei man mittels AlCl3/HCl erst alle Phenylgruppen abspaltet und das entstandene Si6Cl12 mit LiAlH4 hydriert. Si6H12 wird durch verschiedene Spektren und seine Eigenschaften charakterisiert.

    Description / Table of Contents: I.R. and Mass Spectroscopic Investigations on α,ω-Dihydrochloro Silanes H(SiCl2)nH with n = 3-7Mass spectra of α,ω-dihydrochlorosilanes H(SiCl2)nH were analyzed respecting to their fragmentation. This shows, that the cleavage starts with the break of SiSi bonds, by preference in the middle of the chain. This is in accordance to the results of IR spectra which show very similar frequencies like perchlorooligo silanes. Thus, the lowest force constants of SiSi bondings in α,ω-dihydrochloro silanes, can be also expected in the middle of the chain.
    Notes: Die Massenspektren der α,ω-Dihydrochlorsilane H(SiCl2)nH mit n = 3-7 werden bezüglich ihrer Fragmentierung analysiert. Es zeigt sich, daß die Spaltung mit einem Zerbrechen der SiSi-Bindung, vorzugsweise in der Mitte der Kette beginnt. Dies steht im Einklang mit den Ergebnissen der IR-Spektren, die sehr ähnliche Frequenzen zeigen, wie bei den Perchlorsilanen gefunden. Daraus kann geschlossen werden, daß auch bei den α,ω-Dihydrochlorsilanen die mittleren SiSi-Bindungen die kleinsten Kraftkonstanten zeigen.

    Description / Table of Contents: Preparation and Spectroscopie Properties of Some Perbromo- and PeriodooligosilanesThe cleavage of octaphenylcyclotetrasilane and decaphenylcyclopentasilane with Iodine, phosphorus pentabromide and bromine and the successive reaction with HBr/AlBr3 or HI/AlI3 give n-Si4Br10, n-Si5Br12, n-Si4I10, and n-Si5I12. Their IR and Raman spectra are discussed with the aid of a normal coordinate analysis. The spectra of the cyclic iodosilanes Si4I8, Si5I10, and Si6I12, prepared previously [1], are included in the discussion.
    Notes: Die Spaltung von Oktaphenylcyclotetrasilan und Dekaphenylcyclopentasilan mit Iod, Phosphorpentabromid oder Brom und anschließende Umsetzung mit HBr/AlBr3 bzw. HI/AlI3 erlaubt die Darstellung der bisher unbekannten Halogensilane n-Si4Br10, n-Si4I10, n-Si5Br12 und n-Si5I12. Ihre IR- und Raman-Spektren werden mit Hilfe einer Normalkoordinatenanalyse diskutiert. Jene der kürzlich dargestellten [1] cyclischen Iodsilane Si4I8, Si5I10 und Si6I12 werden mit einbezogen.

    Description / Table of Contents: Some asymmetric disilanes have been isolated by Si-phenyl cleavage of trimethyl-triphenyldisilane with HI. The cleavage occured stepwise and it was impossible to exchange all the three phenyl groups directly by iodine. After hydrogenation of the SiI linkage it was possible to split the last phenyl group from the trimethyl-diiodophenyl-disilane. Reaction with methanol gave the corresponding methoxy derivatives.
    Notes: Verschiedene asymmetrisch substituierte Disilane entstehen durch Phenylabspaltung aus Trimethyl-triphenyldisilan mit HJ. Die Abspaltung erfolgt stufenweise und es gelingt nicht, alle drei Phenylgruppen direkt gegen Jod auszutauschen. Erst nach Hydrierung der SiJ-Bindung im Trimethyl-dijodphenyldisilan kann die letzte Phenylgruppe abgespalten werden. Durch Reaktion der SiJ-Bindung mit Methanol entstehen die entsprechenden Methoxyderivate.

    Description / Table of Contents: Preparation and Characterization of Chloroligosilanes with Internal Hydrogen.Unbranched chlorinated tri-, tetra-, and pentasilanes with internal hydrogen substituent are synthesized from the corresponding phenylsilanes by cleaving off the phenyl groups with HCl/AlCl3 and characterized by spectroscopy. Coupling of phenylsilylpotassium compounds, isolated from their mercury analogs, was used to prepare the phenylsilanes.
    Notes: Geradkettige chlorierte Tri-, Tetra- und Pentasilane mit mittelständigem Wasserstoff werden aus den entsprechenden Phenylsilanen durch Abspaltung der Phenylreste mit HCl/AlCl3 hergestellt und spektroskopisch charakterisiert. Die Phenylsilane werden durch Kopplung aus Phenylsilylkaliumverbindungen synthetisiert, die ihrerseits, die ihrerseits aus den Hg-Verbindungen isoliert werden.

    Description / Table of Contents: The reactions of calcium monosilicide with hydrogen halides, halogens and acetic acid were investigated. In all cases a decomposition of the CaSi structure to Ca salts and chain - polymeric or monomeric Si compounds, respectively, occurs, depending on reagents and reaction conditions. An interconnection of the Si chains takes place in some cases.
    Notes: Die Reaktionen des Calciummonosilicids mit Halogenierungsmitteln, Halogenwasserstoffen und Eisessig werden untersucht. Es zeigt sich in allen Fällen ein Abbau der CaSi-Struktur unter Bildung von Ca-Salzen und, je nach Reagens und Reaktionsbedingungen, zu kettenförmigen oder monomeren Si-Verbindungen. Eine Vernetzung der Si-Ketten scheint in einigen Fällen einzutreten.
