    Description / Table of Contents: Synthesis and Properties of Some Polymeric Compounds, Formed from Sixmembered or Eightmembered C—S Ringss-Trithiane, substituted s-trithianes and s-tetrathiocanes, cyclooctasulfur and to some extent selenium can be polymerized together with s-tetrathiocane, if the molten mixtures are treated with a trace of borontrifluoride etharate. This leads to polymethylene sulfides, substituted polymethylene sulfides, polymethylene polysulfides and polymethylene sulfide selenides which melt mostly without decomposition.
    Notes: s-Trithian, monosubstituierte s-Trithiane und s-Tetrathiocane, Cyclooctaschwefel und in begrenztem Maße auch Selen können zusammen mit Tetrathiocan polymerisiert werden, wenn die geschmolzenen Gemische mit einer Spur Bortrifluoridetherat behandelt werden. Es entstehen dabei meist unzersetzt schmelzende Polymethylensulfide, substituierte Polymethylensulfide, Polymethylenpolysulfide und Polymethylensulfidselenide.

    Description / Table of Contents: Isomerisations of Triple Substituted s-Trithianes and s-Triselenanes. Isolation of α-Triseleno Acetic Aldehydeα-Trithio acetic aldehyde, α-triseleno acetic aldehyde and 2.4.6-tris-(trimethylsilyl)-s-trithiane are converted to the analogous conformers if they are treated with lewis-acids. α-Triseleno acetic aldehyde has been isolated for the first time by application of a sophisticated method for the preparation of triseleno acetic aldehyde. The conversion of various α-isomers into the β-forms is shown in 1H-NMR spectra.
    Notes: α-Trithioacetaldehyd, α-Triselenoacetaldehyd und 2,4,6-Tris-(trimethylsilyl)-s-trithian lassen sich durch Behandeln mit Lewis-Säuren in die entsprechenden Konformationsisomeren umwandeln. α-Triselenoacetaldehyd konnte zum ersten Mal bei einer verfeinerten Methode zur Darstellung von Triselenoacetaldehyd isoliert werden. Die Umwandlung der verschiedenen α-Isomeren in die β-Formen wird an Hand der 1H-NMR-Spektren diskutiert.

    Notes: Die Behandlung von s-Trithian mit n-Butyllithium führt zu Lithiumsalzen von Carbanionen. Bei der Umsetzung mit den halogenfunktionellen Verbindungen CH3J. (CH3)3SiCl, (CH3)3GeCl, (CH3)3SnCl und (CH3)2SiCl2 reagieren diese unter Abspaltung von LiCl zu ein- oder mehrfach substituierten s-Trithianen.

    Notes: Dreifach silyliertes s-Trithian wird mit überschüssigem n-Butyllithium umgesetzt. Die entstehenden Lithiumsalze von Carbanionen ergeben bei Zusatz von Wasser bzw. Deuteriumoxid Isomere des 2,4,6-Tris-(trimethylsilyl)-s-trithians.

    Description / Table of Contents: Preparation and Characterization of Pure Trimeric, Tetrameric, and Pentameric SelenoformaldehydeThe possibilities for the preparation of three oligomer forms of selenoformaldehyde are described. Their separation from polymethylene selenide and oily byproducts is possible by aid of recrystallization, sublimation and a complexation-decomplexation treatment with AgNO3. So for the first time s-pentaselenecane could be isolated. The properties of the selenoformaldehydes are described. Their complexes with AgNO3 serve for additional characterization.
    Notes: Die Möglichkeiten zur Darstellung von drei oligomeren Formen von Selenoformaldehyd werden beschrieben. Durch fraktionierte Kristallisation, Sublimation und Komplexierung-Dekomplexierung mit AgNO3 gelingt eine Abtrennung von Polymethylenselenid und öligen Verunreinigungen. Zum ersten Mal konnte s-Pentaselenecan in reiner Form isoliert werden. Beschrieben werden die Eigenschaften der oligomeren Selenoformaldehyde. Ihre Neutralkomplexe mit AgNO3 dienen zusätzlich zu ihrer Charakterisierung.

    Description / Table of Contents: The Rapid Synthesis of Very Pure Bis-Bromo-Methylsulfide without SolventBis-bromo-methyl sulfide is produced by the direct reaction of thioformaldehyde with elemental bromium. High quantities of the pure compound are obtained, when it is purified by distillation.
    Notes: Bis-brommethylsulfid entsteht bei der direkten Reaktion von Thioformaldehyd mit elementarem Brom. Bei der anschließenden Destillation erhält man die Verbindung in hohen Ausbeuten und in reiner Form.
