Zusammenfassung Die verschiedenen Theorien über den gel-chromatographischen Prozeß werden diskutiert. Der Haupttrenneffekt wird durch die molekülgrößenbedingte Zugänglichkeit des Porensystems der stationären Phase bedingt. Die danach zu erwartende universelle Eichkurve stellt eine gute Näherungslösung dar; Abweichungen treten insbesondere bei Θ-Lösungsmitteln auf.

Abstract The different theories on the GPC process are discussed. The main separation effect is caused by the accessibility of the pores in the stationary phase for molecules of different size. The universal calibration which should be expected from this separation effect is a good approximation but deviations occur mainly if Θ-solvents are used.
