Summary Based on a short description of psychodynamic inpatient psychothearapy and behaviorally oriented therapeutic roleplays for the enhancement of social skills, an evaluation of a time-limited combination of both treatment approaches is presented. Results indicate that especially patients with high levels of social anxiety or a diagnosis of social phobia show clear improvement in measures of social-phobic symptomatology. Problems due to implementation of elements of cognitive-behavior therapy in a psychodynami- cally oriented treatment setting as well as an increase in acceptance of this combination within the therapeutic staff are discussed.

Zusammenfassung Auf dem Hintergrund kurzer Beschreibungen psychodynamisch orientierter stationärer Psychotherapie und eines kognitiv-verhaltenstherapeutischen Rollenspielansatzes zur Verbesserung sozialer Kompetenz wird die Evaluation einer zeitlich befristeten Kombinationsbehandlung, in deren Rahmen beide Ansätze angeboten wurden, dargestellt. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass besonders bei Patientinnen und Patienten mit einem hohen Grad an sozialer Angst oder der Diagnose einer sozialen Phobie eine deutliche Verbesserung auf Maßen der sozialphobischen Symptomatik feststellbar ist. Probleme, die sich aus der Anwendung von kognitiv- behavioralen Therapieelementen in einem grundsätzlich psychodynamisch orientierten Setting ergeben, werden ebenso diskutiert wie die Erhöhung der Akzeptanz dieser Kombination im therapeutischen Team.
