Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Bei 54 Kranken wurden Defektwunden über insgesamt 92 Gelenken durch Spalthaut-Netz-Transplantate gedeckt. Transplantats durchtrennt and so die Kontraktur vermieden.
Notes: Summary Defect wounds over 92 joints on 54 patients were resurfaced with mesh skin grafts. Thirsch grafts often produce dermatogenic contractures due to shrinkage of the graft, but this does not occur with mesh grafts as the elastic parts of the split graft are cut with a mesh dermatome. The advantage of good wound drainage results in an excellent quota of graft takes, even on poor recipient areas or infected or fresh wounds. In none of the cases properly operated on was dermatogenic contracture seen. In functional, esthetic and mechanical respects results were always good.

Notes: Abstract Anisometrical colloidal iron(III)hydroxide particles and particle aggregates were incorporated in elastic poly(vinyl acetate) networks. A novel method has been developed to fix the colloidal structure of deformed samples. Digitalized image analysis has been applied in order to evaluate the micrographs. The rod-like particles allow for studying the local deformation and orientation due to uniaxial and triaxial deformations. The density correlation function as well as the micrographs show that the structure of aggregates is not influenced by the strain. Due to strong attractive interactions between the colloidal particles the developing strain is not enough to destroy the aggregate structure. The orientation behavior of the model filled networks can be satisfactorily described by using the affinity principle.
