Description / Table of Contents:
Notes:
Summary Perforations of the conventional drainages are usually obturated by the surrounding tissue and coagula. When obturation occurs, it is necessary to reopen the passage of the drain without a follow-up operation, a requirement that is satisfied by a newly developed drain. The technical characteristic of this drain is the spiral form of its absorbing groove. The intracorporeal wall is dissected by a screw-shaped groove. A rotating force applied to the outer part of the drainage tube gives rise to changes in form and position of its groove, path, and inside diameter.
