Description / Table of Contents:
Notes:
Summary Single nephron filtration rate was measured in superficial tubules of the rat kidney. We used two different methods for sampling tubular fluid: 1. controlled suction 2. sampling against the predetermined intratubular free-flow pressure. The measured filtration rates were 35.2±14.3 (SD) and 18.3±5.7 (SD) mμl/min, respectively. We interpret this difference as being due to the increase in effective filtration pressure during sucking of tubular fluid.
