Zusammenfassung In unseren beiden Häusern fanden wir in 9 Jahren 16 Epiphysenlösungen am peripheren Oberschenkelende. eine große Zahl dieser verhältnismäßig seltenen Verletzung. Die Einteilung nach Aitken hat sich bewährt. Nach starker Zertrümmerung der Metaphyse zeigt sich besonders eindrucksvoll die Rekonstruktion vom Fugenknorpel aus. Exakte Reposition bringt ein gutes Ergebnis. Dort wo sie konservativ nicht erzielt werden kann, muß blutig reponiert werden. Nachuntersuchungen sind erforderlich um bei Wachstumsstörungen zum jeweils günstigsten Zeitpunkt entsprechende Korrekturosteotomien durchzuführen.

Summary During 9 years we encountered 16 epiphyseal fractures at the distal end of the femur in our hospitals. This is a large number of this rare type of injury. The Aitken classification proved useful. Reconstruction of the metaphysis by the epiphyseal cartilage had particularly impressive results after severe damage of the metaphysis. Exact repositioning achieved the best results. In cases where conservative reduction was not possible, operative treatment was necessary. All patients must be checked to watch for any increasing deformity and to judge the optimum moment for corrective osteotomy if this proves necessary.
