Notes: The transition metal-gallium complexes [Ga(MLn)3] [where MLn=Fe(CO)2(η-C5H5), Mo(CO)3(η-C5H5), Co(CO)3(PPh3), and Mn(CO)5] have been synthesised by salt elimination between GaCl3 and MI(MLn) (MI=Na/K). The iron complex [Ga{Fe(CO)2(η-C5H5)}3] (1) has been characterised by X-ray crystallography and shown to contain a planar, three-coordinate gallium centre bound to three Fe(CO)2(η-C5H5) fragments by unsupported Ga-Fe bonds [av. 2.444(1) Å]. A partial structure determination of [Ga{Mo(CO)3(η-C5H5)}3] (5) is consistent with a trigonal-planar GaMo3 core. Brief mention is also made of two chloro complexes [GaCl(MLn)2] [MLn=Fe(CO)2(η-C5-H5) and Co(CO)3(PPh3)].

    Description / Table of Contents: Sperrige Arylgallium und Indiumverbindungen mit Co(CO)4 und Mn(CO)5 SubstituentenWeitere Untersuchungen der Reaktion von Ar*GaCl2 (Ar* = 2,4,6-t-Bu3C6H2) mit Na[Mn(CO)5] ergaben die neue Verbindung [Ga(Ar*){Mn(CO)5}2], 2. Die neuen Indiumverbindungen [In(Ar*){Co(CO)4}2], 3 und [In(Ar*){Mn(CO)5}2], 4 wurden durch Reaktionen von Ar*InBr2 mit Na[Co(CO)4] bzw. Na[Mn(CO)5] erhalten. Die Struktur von 3 wurde mit Hilfe einer Röntgenanalyse bestimmt: Raumgruppe P1 (Nr. 2), Z = 2, a = 8,625(1) Å, b = 10,557(2) Å, c = 17,55(2) Å, α = 88,43(1)°, β = 83,45(1)°, γ = 71,14(1)°. Die Kristallstruktur von [Ga{Mn(CO)5}3] wurde ebenfalls bestimmt: Raumgruppe Pbca (Nr. 61), Z = 8, a = 12,83(3) Å, b = 11,753(2) Å, c = 29,662(6) Å, α = β = γ = 90°.
    Notes: Further investigation of the reaction of Ar*GaCl2 (Ar* = 2,4,6-t-Bu3C6H2) with Na[Mn(CO)5] resulted in the new compound, [Ga(Ar*){Mn(CO)5}2] 2. The new indium compounds, [In(Ar*){Co(CO)4}2] 3 and [In(Ar*){Mn(CO)5}2] 4, have been prepared by the treatment of Ar*InBr2 with Na[Co(CO)4] and Na[Mn(CO)5], respectively. The structure of 3 was established by single-crystal X-ray diffraction: space group P1 (No. 2), Z = 2, a = 8.625(1) Å, b = 10.557(2) Å, c = 17.55(2) Å, α = 88.43(1)°, β = 83.45(1)°, γ = 71.14(1)°. The X-ray crystal structure of [Ga{Mn(CO)5}3] is also reported: space group Pbca (No. 61), Z = 8, a = 12.83(3) Å, b = 11.753(2) Å, c = 29.662(6) Å, α = β = γ = 90°.
