Description / Table of Contents:
Notes:
Several new triarylgermanium derivatives viz. triphenylgermanium benzoate, salicylate, mandelate, sulphate, selenite, selenate, tri-p-tolylgermanium benzoate and sulphate have been prepared by the interaction of triarylgermanium bromide with corresponding silver salt in an inert solvent. Triphenylgermanium acetate1 and bis-triphenylgermanium sulphide2, already described in the literature, have also been obtained by methods other than those reported. The compounds have been characterised, and their structures are discussed on the basis of infrared spectra.
