    Notes: Durch das Röhrenelektrometerverfahren von A. Meissner zum Nachweis piezoelektrischer Aufladungen und durch Ätzversuche mit Methylalkohol wurde die Zugehörigkeit des Pentaerythrits zur Symmetrieklasse S4 nunmehr eindeutig nachgewiesen. Das Pentaerythritmolekül ist also nicht pyramidal, sondern tetraedrisch gebaut und steht durchaus im Einklang mit der klassischen Stereochemie von van't Hoff und Le Bel. Damit erweist sich aber der einzige experimentelle Anhalt für das tatsächliche Vorkommen eines von der geometrischen Stereochemie vorgesehenen, pyramidal gebauten Moleküls vom Methantypus als Irrtum. Es ist anzunehmen, daß die allgemein gehaltene geometrische Betrachtungsweise von K. Weissenberg eine Einschränkung wird erfahren müssen.
