Thiocarbonyl fluoride is prepared with good yield by interaction between thiocarbonyl chloride and molten alkali metal fluorides. Vapour pressures of CSF2 are represented by the equation log p = -1002/T +7.64, boiling point: -62.6 ± 0.2°C, heat of vapourization: 4.58 kcal/mol; TROUTONs constant: 21.8. The infrared spectrum from 2 to 33 μ is recorded and a tentative assigment of the bands observed is given.

Thiocarbonylfluorid wird in guter Ausbeute durch Umsetzung von Thiocarbonylchlorid mit geschmolzenen Alkalifluoriden erhalten. Die Dampfdrucke werden durch die Gleichung log p = -1002/T + 7,64 wiedergegeben. Siedepunkt -62,6 ± 0,2°C. Verdampfungsenthalpie 4,58 kcal/Mol. TROUTON-Konstante 21,8. Das IR-Spektrum wurde im Bereich von 2-33 μ registriert und eine versuchsweise Zuordnung der Banden vorgenommen.
