Description / Table of Contents: Unequivocal Synthesis of Pterin-6-carboxaldehydeAn unequivocal synthesis of pterin-6-carboxaldehyde has been achieved by condensation of ethyl α-aminocyanoacetate with diisonitrosoacetone to give 2-amino-3-ethoxycarbonyl-5-oximinomethylpyrazine 1-oxide (1), followed by cyclization with guanidine to pterin-6-carboxaldehyde oxime 8-oxide (2). Reduction with sodium sulfite followed by mild oxidation with iodine then gives pterin-6-carboxaldehyde in 50% overall yield.
Gesamtausbeute in 3 überführen.
