Zusammenfassung Die Federnägel sind speziell gebogene Rundnägel aus besonders elastischem Stahl. Die Biegung des hochelastischen Nagels gibt der Nagelspitze im Markraum die Kraft einer Feder, mit der sich such stark verschobene Bruchstücke gedeckt reponieren lassen. Wir erzielten immer eine erstaunlich hohe Stabilität und mußten nie eine Pseudarthrose oder eine Infektion beobachten. Durch das nahezu percutane Einschlagen am medialen und lateralen Oberschenkelcondyl in das Kopf-Halsfragment und den Trochantermajor eignet sich diese schonende Methode auch besonders für alte und multiple Verletzte.

Summary The curvature of high-elasticity pins imparts a spring force to the pin in the medullary canal which ensures closed reduction of fractures even if there is considerable displacement of fracture fragments. As insertion of the pins from the medial and lateral femoral condyle into the head and neck fragment and also into the greater trochanter involves no major surgery, this almost percutaneous technique is ideally suited for elderly patients and in multiple injuries. Non-union and infection were not observed.
