Abstract A method for determining the particle thermal conductivity and particle-to-fluid heat transfer coefficient simultaneously for spherical particles is described. Small perturbation system analysis is used to minimize mass transfer and preserve linearity of response for moist grain particles. Preliminary tests with acrylic beads and soybean seeds demonstrate the accuracy of the method.
