Conclusions 1. The σ-ε, A-ε, N-ε, and $$\log \dot \varepsilon - \varepsilon $$ curves were obtained for the corrosion resistant steels 12Kh18N10T and A-43UP with a common method approach. The strength, deformation, and energy characteristics and their variation coefficients were determined in the $$\dot \varepsilon _{pl} = 10^{ - 3} - 10^3 \sec ^{ - 1} $$ range. 2. The influence of an increase in $$\dot \varepsilon _{pl} $$ on the resistance of these steels to plastic deformation is revealed in an increase in the strength and a decrease in the deformation and energy characteristics and the parameter of energy absorbability. In the investigated range of rates A-43UP steel possesses higher strength and energy characteristics and a higher tendency toward brittle fracture than 12Kh18N10T steel. 3. A higher strength reliability of structures produced from these steels is obtained in service with lower strain rates (∼10−3 sec−1).
